The body is knitted in a close, even rib that catches the light without shine. It has enough substance to hang cleanly from the shoulder and enough give to move, sitting close without gripping.

The collar is knitted in rather than sewn on — a soft polo shape that stands or falls as you wear it. A single navy line runs its full outer edge, front and back, and below the collar points a small V sits in the open neckline, edged navy on both sides with cream between. There is no placket and there are no buttons; the detail is the whole of it.

A raised rib runs over each shoulder from neck to sleeve head, giving the seam a little structure, and deep ribbed cuffs and hem finish the shape.

Worn alone through mild weather or under a jacket when it turns, it carries the ease of a knit with the line of a collar — a piece that does the work of both without announcing either.
